What does the course cover?
All Aspects of Artificial Breeding.
Practical instruction in the insemination of cattle, with up to 100 plus live cow practices during the course.
Each time you attempt a practice insemination it is checked by an experience instructor for accuracy.
You will now by the end of the course how to inseminate correctly.
You will be instructed and have practice in handling frozen and fresh semen and the equipment required for insemination your herd.
As well, an extensive video programme dealing with all aspects of reproduction is shown during the course.
Subjects include:

• Heat Detection
• Sire Selection
• Nutrition
Course Details
How long is the course?
5 days (usually), Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm.
Do I have to Travel?
No. Courses are conducted in districts throughout New Zealand. This avoids accommodation costs and disturbances to your normal farming routine.
Are there any written exams?
No.
