Inspector: Helping Muscular Dystrophy
GREAT GENETICS FOR A GOOD CAUSE!You'd think that great shed cows with fertility, longevity, udders and production would be enough, but Okura TGM Inspector, owned by Nelson Jersey breeders Warren and Louise Berry, will continue to go the extra mile this year with the Berry's renewing their promise to donate $1 for every straw of the bull sold to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The programme has already raised approximately $11,000 and a further $2800 was raised from the silent auction of a 'Riverina' Inspector heifer at CRV AmBreed's Fieldays site in June 2010.CRV AmBreed Marketing Manager Peter Berney, hopes that not only awareness, but also funds will be raised through sales of Inspector. "This is a great opportunity for farmers to both benefit their herds and show off the community spirit they're famous for," he says. "And to help them, we've got a couple of ideas up our sleeve: Recognising the ongoing commitment and generosity of the Berry's CRV AmBreed is kicking off the 2011 fundraising campaign with an immediate $2,000 donation. In addition, Inspector will be made available sexed for a limited time at a great price, offering our farmers even more options to get involved with this worthwhile campaign." |
