New Graduate Bulls for 2008 - Come Straight to the Source

Never before has AmBreed offered so much choice in its bull team – that’s the exciting message for farmers choosing AmBreed as their semen provider in 2008.

In addition to the established favourites, AmBreed is proud to bring to the market a new group of Friesian, Jersey, Ayrshire and Crossbred bulls proven during the 07/08 season. In fact the newcomers may not end with those highlighted below – in waiting are several bulls which continue to move up as they add daughter information: some may be released later in the season so watch this space for developments.

Holstein Friesian

Our new graduates are dominated by sons of the great AmBreed patriarchs Extasy, Pierre and Banquet. In addition to the AmBreed situation, sons of these bulls appear sure to dominate new-sire lineups for other companies: as we’ve been saying for the last few years farmers should come straight to the source of superior genetics - AmBreed.

Royson TKP Pamment is a Pierre son from a Skelton cow. Pamment is a dual index bull in that he ranks highly for both NZMI and BW. He has an extremely low liveweight (29kg) which combined with 2.1% calving difficulty makes him an extremely attractive proposition for a wide range of farm systems requiring moderate size, no fuss cows. Protein at 50kg, Overall Opinion at 0.36 and Udder Overall 0.55 add up to a very desirable bull.

Maire Pierre Flamboyant is from a Donor cow from a Fantastic Farley. He has high NZMI with great shed traits and exceptional type. High protein (56kg) coupled with 101kg Liveweight make this a bull with appeal for high production systems.

Maire Ex Presso is a dual indexing Extasy son from a Gerris from a D C Carl. Extreme protein at 61 kg combined with low Somatic Cells and long life make ExPresso a real excitement machine. Great shed traits combined with capacity complete the picture.

Extasy is represented by three further sons: Maire Extasy Hi-Dee ET, Bagworth Kalumburu (a Liberty bull), and Karioi Ex Kodiak S2F.

Webblea JB David is a Liberty Genetics son of Banquet from an outstanding Skelton cow. A CVM carrier, David is another excellent all-round bull offering production, longevity, moderate size, low calving difficulty, good management and exceptional udders.

Aronamee JB Justice and Maire JB Phetish-ET S2F are also newly-graduating Banquet sons which are notable for high fertility, outstanding longevity and great management traits.

The Duke son Maire Duke Flipper is notable for outstanding udders (Udder Ovarall at 1.31 puts him in an elite category) and this feature is coupled with longevity, low somatic cells and great shed traits.

The Hoax son Monowai Hoax Dodge is from the great broodcow Monowai Belvedere Dawn and like other sons Dodge imparts fertility, capacity and longevity with very good udders.

Blaris Boggoun Roscoe has 100% NZ bloodlines being a Kelvar from a Belvedere from a Nicholass Storm. He has great longevity, management traits, fertility and capacity.

Jersey

AmBreed’s new Jersey sires are dominated by sons of the Liberty Genetics bull Fernaig Admiral.

Riverina Greenman (Fernaig Admiral x Forever x Roberto) breeds moderate sized cows which couple production with great shed traits. He is dual indexing with his feature trait being udders – U Overall at 0.99 make him an exciting option for breeders. A real breed improver!

Derriland Matador (Fernaig Admiral x Forever x Williams Bryant) leaves smaller daughters. A dual index bull, Matador is notable for overall opinion, low somatic cells, and very good udders.

Blackdee Longreach ET (Fernaig Admiral x Lester x Senator) leaves daughters characterized by great udders (U Overall 1.03), shed traits and capacity.

Rodlin RGK Josh ET and Rodlin RGK Jazzy ET are full brothers being by Kracka from a Percys Ace from a Judds Admiral. Josh is a Jersey Genes JV bull, and is dual indexing with good shed traits, capacity and udders. Jazzy is good for protein with great capacity and shed traits.

Waikari Pasco Virgo (Pasco x Casper x Judds Admiral) combines 24kg protein with good milk (457l), shed traits and capacity. With liveweight -23kg, Virgo suits those wanting to add a higher liveweight bull to their team.

Tironui Hearts Flint (Ace of Hearts x Kays Lad x Tellstar) is a high ranking bull for BW. His daughters tend to be smaller but are strong, have good udders and are very well liked.

Ardachie Kracka Poley P is a polled bull with high indexes. At last farmers have access to a high merit bull that will leave 50% of his progeny polled. A Kracka x Fyn Lemvig x Senator Sam lineup makes Poley an attractive proposition.

Ayrshire

Four new Ayrshire graduates are a feature of this year’s sire catalogue and are sure to find favour with farmers looking for purebreeding or crossbreeding options.

Lodore TK Brace (Kiekko x Maverick) combines strength and udders with protein (33kg), low somatic cells and longevity. An appealing dual index bull with very good shed traits.

Cumbrae Lotto Luck (Lotto x Milky Boy) features outstanding capacity and udder support. He lowers somatic cells and is moderate sized. Being from a NZ cow family adds to his appeal.

Lodore Keikko Jebb (Kiekko x Impressario) is another Keikko son from Lodore Farm. Outstanding BW (190) and protein coupled with milk are likely to appeal to farmers looking for crossbreeding options.

Southwind Jenka (Kiekko x Backgard) has high protein, low somatic cells, and desirable udders. A third milky son of Kiekko likely to appeal to breeders and farmers looking for crossbreeding options.

Crossbred

Sanfords John (Hugo x Judds Admiral x Griffith) is a Liberty Genetics bull with very good indexes, high fertility, great longevity and shed traits.

Vanilla (Banquet x Omega son) combines fertility with outstanding shed traits, capacity and udders. A longevity specialist.

Jonathon (Extasy x Judds Admiral) is a dual indexing sire – protein, low liveweight, great udders. A must for a crossbred pack.

Joseph (Duke x Judds Admiral) is a fertility improver with exceptional protein. He will lower high pins.
