For Holstein-Friesian, we have the Easy-Care Team - to get you cows that look after themselves, and for Jerseys we also have a Manhatten-Free Team. The rest of the industry have got nothing but Manhatten sons while we have moved on. The smarter Jersey farmers in NZ will already have a lot of Manhatten in their herd, and will be looking for some diversity - so here it is.
Genomic selection is a great tool for giving you insight into the next generation - we do advise farmers to use these sires as part of a well-balanced breeding program and manage their breeding risk sensibly. Any other advice we consider irresponsible.
