It is with great sadness that we share that we have lost a wonderful Ambreed man. Butch Coombe has passed away, after a short battle with illness.

Butch has been part of the Ambreed, now CRV, family for over 25 years, and was well known and respected in the greater Te Aroha region for his breeding advice to his loyal dairy farmer clients. He was widely respected and regarded by his CRV Ambreed colleagues for his breeding knowledge, and the entertainment value he brought to social functions with his music. Butch was a story teller, an entertainer and a dairy man.

Butch’s passion and commitment for breeding great dairy cows was with him throughout his career. Ensuring his clients got a good all-round cow was a must, for Butch it was all about the type and conformation that the sire offered.

“Every day’s a school day” was a well-known comment of Butch’s, as he eagerly imparted his breeding knowledge and opinions. We will certainly miss this great man and our thoughts are with his family and many friends.
