Farmers at this year’s Southern and Northland regional field days have the opportunity to learn more about CRV Ambreed’s new herd recording and management tool, myHERD.

After successfully leading CRV for over 12 years, Roald van Noort will step down as CEO on May 1st 2020. He will be succeeded by Angus Haslett who is currently Managing Director of the Business Unit Oceania and responsible for the Business Unit USA.

CRV Ambreed says the Ministry for Primary Industries’ (MPI) new rules for cattle dehorning recognise the importance of putting animal welfare and human safety first.
The new rules announced this week, are effective from 1 October 2019 and require people working with cattle to use local anaesthetic when dehorning and disbudding.
“Dairy farmers love their cows and it makes sense for them to look after one of their greatest assets,” says CRV national sales and marketing manager Jon Lee.

Earlier this week, more than 50 business and industry leaders joined the CRV senior management team and their Netherlands-based executives to mark the occasion.

Waihi dairy farmer Gisela Bach has a special talent for helping others breed healthy and efficient cows they love to milk.
Gisela is an AB (Artificial Breeding) Technician for CRV Ambreed and has been named the Waikato AB Technician of the Year. Born in Barcelona, Gisela was a qualified vet in her home country of Catalonia. She travelled to New Zealand nine years ago and now manages 200-cows with her Kiwi partner Adam on his family’s dairy farm.
