Dairy farmers are being urged to check a list of names of farmers who have old stocks of semen stored with CRV Ambreed.
In the wake of switching to a new computer system, CRV Ambreed has completed a stock-take of semen straws being stored on behalf of farmers around New Zealand. In most cases, there are just a small amount of straws and some are as old as 10 years. The company suspects many farmers have simply forgotten about the straws, or have perhaps moved away from farming.
CRV Ambreed is urging farmers to check this list of names and contact the company before 31 March 2017 if they wish to retain their stocks and pay for storage, otherwise the old stock will be destroyed.
